LORAIN — Police say a burglar wrestled a disabled woman to the ground early Christmas morning after kicking his way into her West 21st Street home.
Edward L. Perry, 52, of Lorain, was charged with aggravated burglary and was taken to the county jail.
The homeowner, Rose Ferguson, 54, heard banging on the door about 12:46 a.m. Tuesday. When she went to investigate, Perry kicked the door in and told Ferguson to give him money or he would kill her, according to a Lorain police report.
Ferguson told officers that Perry held her down on the kitchen floor, then got up and ran to her brother’s room.
A woman also busted into the house and grappled briefly with Ferguson, the report said. Both suspects ran out the door but were found at a West 22nd Street home minutes later, the report said.
The female suspect told police that she had been tricked into going into Ferguson’s house. She was released and had not been charged late Tuesday.
