Stella Hewitt (nee Stantion), 99, of Oberlin, formerly of Elyria, died Thursday, December 27, 2007 at the Welcome Nursing Home in Oberlin. She was born May 14, 1908 in Sambor, Poland. She lived in Lorain County for more than 82 years. Mrs. Hewitt was a housewife and a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, flower gardening, playing cards and bowling.
She is survived by her son, James F. of Elyria; and daughters, Shirley Flood (Donald) of Grafton, and Sharlotte Krugman (Floyd) of Elyria; 14 grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Katherine Skodney and Helen Scott; and brother, Peter Stantion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E.; daughter, Harriet Kehler; sons, Paul Syda and Nickolas and John Sedar; parents, Paul and Anna Stantion; sisters, Mary Skorke and Rozalia Jacobs; brothers, Paul and John Stantion.
