Lorain man beaten unconscious in home

LORAIN — A man received 42 stitches for a cut on his forehead after he awoke early Friday with blood on his face and hands, according to a Lorain police report.

Juan Aponte, 43, told police he must have been knocked unconscious inside his West 17th Street home. When he came to, he touched his mouth and saw blood on his fingers. He looked in the mirror and his face was covered with blood, so he went to EMH Regional Medical Center.

He later saw one of his windows had been shattered and another window was open. Nothing was found missing, the report said.
