Two injured in fender bender on West River Road

ELYRIA — Two people were taken to the hospital for minor injuries about 4:30 p.m. Saturday after a five-car fender bender on West River Road.
The crash happened near the Fox’s Lair Apartments and Interstate 90 overpass. The first three vehicles appear to have been involved in a chain-reaction, while the last two collided trying to avoid the others.
Elyria firefighters said one person complained of whiplash and another had a cut on the forehead. Police did not release the victims’ names late Saturday.
Cleanup of the road backed traffic up south nearly to Midway Mall.
