A variety of wines and beers will be available, and the silent auction will include many exclusive items.

Marion L. Steele comedy show

Marion L. Steele High School junior publications technology class will host its second annual Comedy Show at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 in the school’s cafeteria.

The show will feature comedian Matt Dawson and students who auditioned for the event. A 50/50 raffle will also be available.

Tickets will be available for $7 at the door and all proceeds will go toward a team-building and leadership workshop for the technology students.

Erie County dog licenses

Erie County 2008 dog licenses must be purchased by Jan. 31. State law requires that all dogs be licensed by the time they become three months of age.

Unlicensed dogs can be seized and impounded as allowed under the law. Offenders can be fined up to $100 plus court costs.

There is an $18 penalty for late purchases in addition to the standard $18 per license fee and a $90 penalty for a late kennel license in addition to the standard $90 fee.

State law also requires that the license must be displayed on the dog. Dog owners should keep in mind that a current dog license displayed on your dog is the best form of identification. If the tag is lost, a duplicate can be made for $1 at the Dog Pound.

Donations also are being accepted for Erie County’s new dog kennel.
