Edith R. Evans (nee Harris), 80, of Elyria, died Friday, January 4, 2008 following a long illness. Mrs. Evans was born in 1927 in Colcord, West Virginia. She had been a resident of Elyria since 2001, and had lived in North Ridgeville for forty-eight years prior to that.

She is survived by her son, Jack (Susan) of Bradenton, Florida; daughter, Jewell of Elyria; daughter-in-law, Beverly of North Ridgeville; five grandchildren, Jeff (Veronica), Robbie Axford Evans, Michael, Lee, and John; sister, Nena Pierson of Bomont, West Virginia; and special longtime friends, Donna Brandon of Sheffield Village, Mary Cluley of Westlake and Christine Brandon of North Ridgeville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry in 1983; son, John in 2004; parents, Abe and Bessie (nee Stanley) and many brothers and sisters.

The family is especially grateful to Bu, Sue, Loretta and Lindsey for their constant support during Edith’s illness.

Graveside services will be held at 1 P.M., Tuesday at Blue Ridge Memorial Garden, Beckley, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Edith Evans may be made to the Scleroderma Fund, Attn: Donations, 300 Rosewood Dr., Ste. 105, Danvers, Massachusetts 01923.
