Railroad brass stolen

LORAIN — Eight hundred pounds of brass was reported stolen over the holidays from Republic Steel’s N & T Railroad.

A supervisor told police that 40 rolling bearing brass pieces, weighing between 13 and 15 pounds each, were stolen between Dec. 22 and Jan. 8.

The brass had to be loaded with either an onsite loading machine, or one that the thieves brought on their own, the employee told police.
