Stabbing victim released from hospital

ELYRIA – A 17-year-old boy who was stabbed Tuesday night during a small gathering at a home on East Avenue has been released from the hospital.

Natelle Sims, of Gates Avenue, was evaluated at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland following the 8 p.m. stabbing and released early Wednesday morning.

His alleged attacker, 19-year-old Markell Fenderson of Middle Avenue, was arraigned today at Elyria Municipal Court on one count of felonious assault.

Elyria police Lt. Andy Eichenlaub said Sims and Fenderson where arguing at a home on the 1100 block of East Ave. when Fenderson pulled out a small folding pocket knife and stabbed Sims three times in the chest. Police are still working to gather the details of the evening.
