The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Naomi May Pycraft, 87, died January 18, 2008 at Welcome Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born May 9, 1920 in Lorain. She lived in the Pittsfield Township area for 61 years.
Naomi worked as an elementary school teacher in Lorain schools and then Lorain County and Kipton for 38 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Wellington where she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Pittsfield Farm Womens Club, Town & Country Club in Wellington and the Candle Wick Club, and Missionary Society. She enjoyed traveling and reading.
Naomi is survived by her sister, Lois Pickworth of Oberlin; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Pycraft; parents, Seth and Helen (Hawkins) Richter; brother, Emery Richter and sister, Dr. Dorthea Kodiak.
Visitations will be Monday, January 21, 2008 from 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 P.M. at the Cowling Funeral Home in Oberlin. The Rev. Thomas Alexander of the First Baptist Church of Wellington will officiate. Burial will follow at the East Pittsfield Cemetery.
