The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Steve Sucre, 88, of Avon, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home after a brief illness. Mr. Sucre was born March 19, 1919 in Palmer, Pennsylvania, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (nee Hochreider) Sucre.
Steve was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
He leaves one sister, Betty Petras; one nephew, Paul (Karen) Sucre; two nieces, Bonnie (Bill) Scott and Renee (Michael) Zegarac; and several great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Charles and Louis; three sisters, Helen, Marge, and Ethel.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 8 P.M. at the Misencik Funeral Home, 36363 Detroit Rd., Avon where funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 A.M.
Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland with full military honors. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
