Teen arrested in burglary of home
LORAIN — Three burglars were waiting in the shadows just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday when a Lorain man returned to his Riverview Lane home, according to a Lorain police report.
The man told police he grappled with a white man wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt — and whom he recognized as someone who had broken into his home once before.
Two more burglars came running at the sound of the scuffle, the report said — one carrying what appeared to be a handgun. The gunman opened fire inside the house, and it became apparent that it was a BB gun or Airsoft pistol, the man told police.
The three burglars ran outside, leaving behind a shirt that had been pulled off during the fight and the gun lying in the snow, the report said.
Police followed tracks in the snow to a 17-year-old boy walking nearby. He was cited for aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and obstructing official business.
