Two accused killers pleaded not guilty at their arraignments this morning in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
Decio Rodrigues Jr., 24, of Lorain, pleaded not guilty to charges related to the robbery and shooting death of Lorain grocery store owner Jose Gonzalez.
Police say Rodrigues went to the store to rob Gonzalez on Jan. 25, and ended up shooting him several times with the shopkeeper’s own gun.
He could get the death penalty is convicted of aggravated murder and other charges.
In a separate murder case, Rafael Feliciano, 22, of Lorain, also pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and felonious assault.
Feliciano is charged with the Jan. 29 slaying of 25-year-old Fletcher Windham Jr., also of Lorain. Feliciano told police he acted in self-defense when he stabbed Windham, a friend, 21 times.
