The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Geraline F. Schmidt, (nee Feidler), 94, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Golden Acres Nursing Home, in Amherst.
She was born in Elyria, and was a former resident of Strongsville. She was a secretary for Brown Hardware, and a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, in Berea.
Beloved wife of the late Frederick; dear sister of the late Alvin Feidler and Adaline Matelsky; and loving aunt of Ladine Agnes Smink, and Marianne Osterman, both from Elyria; and Charles Matelsky of Sheffield Lake.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 22, at Baker Osinski Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front St., Berea. Her final resting place will be at Woodvale Cemetery, Middleburg Heights.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of your choice.
