Local contestant on verge of ouster on modeling show
The roll of the dice finally caught up with
Along with two male models, Hydock, 21, was put up for the vote at the end of the series’ seventh episode Thursday night — but not before all of the models faced their creepiest photo shoot, and what some would call their silliest catwalk assignment.
After being informed that models must remain poised, focused and professional under any and all circumstances, the eight were told they would really be pushed out of their comfort zones by cavorting with a huge white and yellow python inside a tank of hot water on a freezing
Some of the models were calm, cool and collected while others really struggled with the cold, the snake, and trying to look relaxed and masterful in the water. Hydock appeared to be in the middle — initially struggling to appear comfortable, but persevering.
The catwalk assignments, which came next, saw the group don enormous, ornamental headpieces incorporating feathers and other fanciful items to walk down the runway with an assortment of animals ranging from a peacock and pig to a sheep and duck.
Some of the models were clearly uncomfortable and awkward while others pulled it off with grace and style.
Again, Hydock was in the middle. When the panel of judges made their final assessments, they criticized her for struggling with the water tank,
“The photographer was ready to quit,’’ said one, while the panel agreed she drew the “easiest prop’’ in a poodle for the catwalk.
Terming her last several assignments as symbols of mediocrity, the judges tabbed Hydock for the fateful vote by telling her “you are not shining in any assignment lately.”
Viewers will know if Hydock remains or goes at the start of next week’s episode, when the panel sends one of the three packing.
