Check your flight before heading to airport

Cleveland’s Hopkins International Airport is open but Continental Airlines, which operates a hub at the airport, has canceled about 40 percent of its flights, airport spokeswoman Pat White said.

The snow that has blanketed northern Ohio caused about two dozen accidents in our area, most of which were reported as vehicles sliding off slippery roadways.

In Geauga County, a man was killed in a two-car crash, the State Highway Patrol said.

At least six inches of snow has fallen and the National Weather Service said up to a foot of snow is possible before the storm ends tonight. Forecasters warned that strong winds will cause drifting and blowing snow.

Freezing rain and snow is in the forecast for central Ohio.

Most schools, as well as the University of Toledo, University of Akron and Kent State University, called off classes today.

In Toledo, I-75 was shut down for four hours this morning after a tractor-trailer slid onto its side.
