Floyd Allen Hozalski, 77, of Oberlin, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at home. He was born November 24, 1930 in Lynch, Md.

He lived in the Oberlin area most of his life.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Air Force.

He worked for Elyria Fence in the 40s and 50s for 12 years. He then went to work for the Ford Motor Co., retiring in 1987 after 23 years.

Floyd was a lifelong farmer, and enjoyed working the soil with a tractor, or clearing land with a bulldozer.

He is survived by sons, Patrick S. Hozalski of Oberlin, Lawrence M. Hozalski of Wellington and Stanley J. Hozalski of Sheffield Lake; daughters, Cathy B. Hozalski of Sheffield Lake, Elizabeth M. Hozalski of Kansas City, Mo., and Christine F. Flowers of Chicago; sister, Annie Breerwood of Beltsville, Md.; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanine (nee Grenda) Hozalski; his father, Stanley Hozalski; and his mother, Josie Hozalski.

Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Cowling Funeral Home, 228 S. Main St., Oberlin, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008. Pastor Brian Kenyon of Calvary Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be Monday, March 10, 2008, in Camden Cemetery.

    We will very much miss Floyd Hozalski.
    He has been a wonderful man to be involved with
    and will be thought of often and fondly with respect.
