Delores June Balkin, 85, of
Born February 13, 1923, in Oberlin, Ms. Balkin was the daughter of William and Rose (Morone) McCreedy. She had been a resident of
On January 26, 1951, Ms. Balkin married Roy Joseph Balkin Sr., who preceded her in death on February 28, 1988.
Ms. Balkin was a homemaker who enjoyed going to auctions, having garage sales, and playing the lottery. She liked flowers, especially roses, African violets and tulips. She was a member of the Mission of Jesus Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Nova and
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Roy (Dorothy) Balkin of Nova; stepdaughers and stepsons-in-law, Patricia (Lew) Collins of New London, Shirley (Lionel) Whitney of Spencer, and Frances Herron of Nova. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Wanda (Andy) Shullick, Rita Triesler, Teresa (William) Moss, Deanna Trouten, Donald (Lori) Goodson, Jessica (David) Smith, Bryan Whitney, Tammy Herron and Jeremiah (Vanessa) Balkin; 18 great-grandchildren, Jasmine Reyes, Corina Reyes, Steven Herron, William Moss, Jr., Jackie Moss, Darla Moss, Travis Moss, Danielle Moss, Cheyenne Moss, Garret Moss, Alicia Farman, Steven Trouten, Kailyn Smith, Caleb Smith, Christian Smith, Madison Griffith, Montana Hendricks and Olive Balkin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Tristen Herron and Troy Herron.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ms. Balkin was preceded in death by one daughter, Dianne (Balkin) Trouten; brothers, Harold McCreedy and Harry McCreedy; sisters, Iverna (McCreedy) Johnson and Mary (McCreedy) Ransom; and three grandchildren.
