The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Theresa "Sally" Walsh, 95, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Riverside Hospital in Kankakee, Illinois. Sally was born November 8, 1912 in Joliet, Illinois, and had been a resident of Kankakee for 60 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Shivner of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, and Joan Costigan of Kyle, Texas (formerly of Elyria). She also leaves 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; and son, Ray Walsh.
Funeral services will be private. Local arrangements were handled by Bauer Laubenthal Funeral Home, Elyria.
