The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Norma Maxine Georgi (nee Nevil), 81, of Avon and formerly of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Avon Oaks Nursing Home in Avon. She was born March 7, 1927 in Geneva, Indiana and moved to Avon two and half years ago from Ft. Wayne.
During World War II, she worked in manufacturing as part of the war effort and also took lessons and learned how to fly an airplane. She was employed in the microfilm departments of various banks before retiring in 1995. Mrs. Georgi was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church as well as a VFW Post and other social clubs all in the Fort Wayne area. She is survived by daughter, Mona Jacobson (John) of Westfield Center; and son, Rev. Gary Georgi of Avon; grandchildren, Chad and Nathan Eckert, Elizabeth MacLellan and Christopher Georgi; great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Patrick and Gabriel Eckert, Courtney and Justin MacLellan and Abigail Georgi; and twin siblings, Gerald Nevil of Fort Wayne and Geraldine Bergman of Monroe, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max in 1995; and parents, Omer and Edithe Nevil (nee Mann).
Private family memorial services will be held as well as private interment at the Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
