And it`s still snowing . . .

ELYRIA — For much of Friday evening, it seemed as if maybe, just maybe, we’d be spared the latest in what seems to be a never-ending stream of winter snowstorms.

But then the sky darkened, and the snow started falling.

Drat.

A heavy snow warning is in effect through 9 a.m. today as the National Weather Service predicted as much as

5 inches would fall on the county. Forecasters predict the entire northern half of the state will get blanketed, with up to 8 inches of snowfall around Toledo.

Expect flurries this morning, tapering off as temperatures hit about 36 degrees, the weather service said.

Scattered snow showers will probably return every night through Monday, forecasters said, but by Tuesday the high will hit 43 degrees and the rain will come.
