Kincannon picks Notre Dame

Keystone’s Kari Kincannon has signed a national letter of intent to attend Notre Dame College where she will play volleyball.
A four-year letterwinner for the Wildcats, Kincannon was a three-time first-team All-Patriot Athletic Conference, All-Lorain County and All-Northeast District selection.
In her senior season, she earned a spot on the All-Ohio volleyball first team and was named All-Northeast District Player of the Year and team MVP.
Notre Dame College, which is located in Euclid, finished 21-14 in 2007, and won the American Mideast Conference (AMC) North Division title.
The Falcons open the 2008 season with the Earlybird Tourament at the University of Michigan-Dearborn on Aug. 22.

OAC honors two B-W athletes

BEREA — Baldwin-Wallace junior first baseman Caitlin Myor and sophomore No. 1 golfer Nick Bryan have been named Ohio Athletic Conference softball hitter of the week and OAC men’s golfer of the week, respectively.
Myor, a Sheffield Lake resident and graduate of Elyria High, hit a grand slam and drove in five runs as the Yellow Jackets defeated Wittenberg 11-2 to gain a split of a non-conference doubleheader Saturday. She was
3-for-5 in the doubleheader, walking three times, scoring a run and hitting two doubles for a 1.600 slugging percentage and .714 on-base average. Defensively, she made 13 putouts and committed no errors.
Bryan shot a medalist score of 77 to lead the Yellow Jackets to a 326-345 win over Calvin (Mich.) in a non-conference dual match during the team’s Florida trip. Last fall, he set a B-W single-season record when he averaged 74 strokes in five tournaments and in five rounds of 18 holes.
