Tonight’s Council committee meeting to discuss the matter of staffing at the Elyria Fire Department has been canceled until further notice. Fire Chief John Zielinski is ill.
Councilman Michael Lotko, D-at large, who is chairman of the committee, decided to cancel it in light of Zielinski’s illness in order to give the chief the opportunity to be present. The Public Utilities, Safety and Environment Committee still will meet at 6 p.m. to discuss this year’s street paving projects. However, Lotko said there will be absolutely no discussion in regards to the fire department entertained from anyone.
