The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Marlene G. Kilmer (nee Harrell), 72, of Elyria, Ohio, died on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at St. John West Shore Hospital Emergency Room following a long illness.
She was born in Lorain on November 10, 1935 and lived in Elyria for most of her life. She was a graduate of Lorain High School. She was employed at the Lorain Telephone Company as an operator and later worked at Lorain County Community College as a Clerk-Typist for 25 years.
Mrs. Kilmer belonged to the United Polish Club Ladies Auxiliary and she enjoyed crocheting and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul J. Kilmer; three daughters, Teresa (Larry) Brown of Elyria, Caroline (Brent) Reitz and Mary (Rick) Majoras both of North Ridgeville; one son, Clint (Linda) Kilmer of Alpharetta, Georgia; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Kilmer is also survived by two sisters, Julia Sito and Lillian Metera, both of Elyria.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Smigel; five brothers, Frank, Carl, Hank, Chester, and Casmier Harrell; and her parents, Frank and Mary Harrell.
Friends will be received at the Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland Street, on Tuesday April 8, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Closing prayers will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2008, at 9:30 A.M. followed by mass at 10 A.M. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 590 Poplar Street, Elyria.
The Reverend Father Frank P. Kosem, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Elyria.
