ELYRIA – Firefighters were battling a house fire this morning in a bedroom of the 300 block of Ninth Street.

The fire in a second-floor residence was reported at 9:29 a.m. by an occupant, a dispatcher said. Firefighters had been in the area responding to another incident and arrived at the Ninth Street fire two minutes later, he said.

It appeared the fire was under control a short time later, he said.
