The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Virginia D. Saddler

Virginia D. Saddler (nee Dague) 78, of Elyria, died Thursday, May 8, 2008, at her home. She was born November 16, 1929 in Lorain. Virginia was a registered nurse and had worked at Lorain Community Hospital and had worked with Dr. Michael Kolczun until her retirement.

She was the Chaplain of the Daughters of the American Revolution Nathan Perry Chapter, program chairperson for Fourthurs, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she enjoyed entertaining during the holidays, and was an avid reader and gardener.

She is survived by daughter, Bonnie Saddler Jefferys (Charles) of Mt. Gilead; son, Stuart (Ellen) of Elyria; five grandchildren, Rebecca Parker (Nathan), Sarah, Stephen, Michael, Natalie;  two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Berkley; brother, John Dague (Peggy) of Medina.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Howard M.; son, Andrew; and her parents, Clair Earnest and Mary Bernice (nee Kuhn) Dague; and neice, Rebecca Dague-Marec.

Friends may call 4 to 7 P.M. Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home at Chestnut Ridge Rd. and State Rt. 57, Elyria (440)322-4626 where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 10 A.M.  Rev. Chuck Beherens will officiate. Burial at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria. The family strongly suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Schoepfle Gardens  c/o Lorain County Metroparks 12882 Diagonal Rd. LaGrange, OH 44050.
