William R. Randall, 62, of Elyria, died suddenly Saturday May 10, 2008. He was born February 13, 1946, in Toledo.

William was a professional educator from 1968 to 2007, retiring as the Superintendent of Lorain County Joint Vocational School, and was involved in many fraternal and professional organizations, most recently Elyria Rotary, and was a member of the Oberlin Country Club.

He enjoyed golf, woodworking, and spending quality time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pam (nee Powers);  sons, Patrick A. (Lisa) of Green Springs, Robert W. (Karie) of London, Ohio; grandson, Luke P.; and parents, William H. and Ruth (nee Schneider) Randall of Grafton.

Friends may call 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday May 14, 2008, at Bauer-Laubenthal Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Road (at state Route 57) Elyria, where services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008. The Rev. Janet Long, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church, will officiate.  Burial will be private.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Lorain County Joint Vocational School Endowment Fund, 15881 state Route 58, Oberlin, OH 44074 or CHP Regional Foundation/ New Life Hospice at 3700 Kolbe Road, Lorain, OH 44053, or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Call (440) 322-4626.

  1. Bill is truly missed by his colleagues at the Educational Service Center. He was always kind and cheerful. My heart goes out to his family.
