Susan "Suzy" N. Lansdowne, 54, of Elyria, died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at home, following a long illness.

She was born in Cleveland July 22, 1953, and lived in Sheffield Lake most of her life, moving to Elyria to live with her sister four years ago.

She was a graduate of Lorain Catholic High School, class of 1971. She was employed at St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland from 1982 to 2004 as a licensed practical nurse.  Suzy was fascinated with the Wizard of Oz and the color of purple.

She is survived by her father, Wayne (Eileen) Lansdowne of Sheffield Lake; three sisters, Liza Roseberry of Cleveland Heights; Anna Flanagan, with whom she made her home in Elyria and Julie Urban of Tijeras, N.M. She also helped raise three of her nieces and nephews, Kelly Flanagan of Columbus, Michael Flanagan and Luke Costantino, both of Elyria. She also has one more niece, Rachal Godwin and one nephew, Jacob Urban.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Lansdowne (nee Walsh).

Friends will be received 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Reichlin Roberts Funeral Home, 327 Cleveland St., Elyria. Closing prayers will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the funeral home, followed by an 11 a.m. Mass at St. Jude Church, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, with the Rev. Father Frank P. Kosem, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude School, 590 Poplar St., Elyria, OH 44035 in Suzy’s name.
