Police will check drivers tonight in Vermilion

VERMILION —The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Elyria Post will be looking for impaired drivers tonight at a checkpoint along Liberty Avenue, east of Sunnyside Road in Vermilion.

The Highway Patrol is working in conjunction with the Vermilion Police and the county Sheriff’s Office from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. to conduct the checkpoint.

Highway Patrol Lt. Glenn Peterson said those planning to drink alcohol should designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before they drink and get behind the wheel.
