Joyce and Jay Pleines
Congratulations to Joyce and Jay Pleines who celebrated their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
The couple were married May 24, 1983 in Elyria.
Jay is retired from Sears Roebuck & Co. He currently works at Sacred Heart Church in Oberlin. Jay enjoys riding his motorcycle, traveling, reading, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Joyce is retired from Sam’s Club. She currently provides childcare for her grandchildren. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
The couple live in Elyria and have two sons, Joe DeSimone of Elyria and Skip Gavorski of Avon; and six grandchildren, Kaila, Joey and Jamie Gavorski and Ben, Nolan and Preston DeSimone. They enjoy and follow the Cleveland Indians.
To celebrate their anniversary the DeSimone, Gavorski and Buchs families suprised them with a 25th wedding reception on April 18, 2008 at the Thomas Folger Home in Veterans Park, Avon Lake. 50 guests from various local communities attended.
