ALERT: Falling bricks force road closing

Pearl Avenue in Lorain was closed Monday after the brick facade of a building started falling to the sidewalk below.
Monday afternoon, city officials are trying to figure out the best approach – whether the building is so unsafe it should be torn down, or whether an effort to remove the loose bricks was enough to keep it safe for passers-by.
The building is near East 30th Street, and it houses what looks to be an active business – La Fortuna barbershop. A "for sale" sign appears in another window in the building.
