Ohio auditor launches new probe of A.G.’s office

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio Auditor Mary Taylor says she is conducting a special investigation into allegations that public funds were misused under former Attorney General Marc Dann’s administration.

Taylor, a Republican, said in a statement Wednesday that she can’t reveal more details. Dann resigned last month amid a sexual harassment scandal in his office. The Democrat also acknowledged having an extramarital affair with a subordinate.

A message seeking comment was left for Dann.

Taylor also said she will continue participating in a separate investigation into Dann’s administration being led by state Inspector General Tom Charles.

Gov. Ted Strickland last week appointed Nancy Hardin Rogers, the dean of Ohio State University’s law school, as the state’s new attorney general.
