Update: Names of teens in crash released
UPDATE:
The teen-agers involved in the accident at 11:30 a.m. today at Route 301 and Parsons Road in LaGrange Township have been indentified.
They are:
Lauren Bigler, 17, of Columbia Station. She was the driver.
Katie O’Brien, age unknown, of Columbia Station. She was a passenger who was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland from the scene with Bigler.
Tara Gorman, 15, of Columbia Station. She was a passenger who initially was taken to EMH Regional Medical Center and then flown to MetroHealth.
Craig Lupinski, 16, of LaGrange. He was a passenger who along with passenger Kateland Kacic, 15, of Wellington was taken to EMH.
The Elyria post of the Ohio Highway Patrol said Bigler was driving east on Parsons Road when she failed to yield at the stop sign and drove into the path of a semi traveling north on Route 301. The semi’s driver, Timothy Ingraham, 42, of West Salem, was not injured.
UPDATE:
We now have condition reports for the teen-agers — one is critical, one is serious, the condition of one was labeled deteriorating, and the other two suffered minor injuries.
Troopers say it appeared the teens were traveling east on Parsons when they ended up in the path of a northbound semi.
None of the teens had any recollection of the accident at the scene.
