100th Birthday

Pearl Wendorf Sterner

Congratulations to Pearl Wendorf Sterner of the Canton Christian Home, who celebrated her 100th Birthday June 7, 2008 with an Open House from 2 to 4 P.M. in the activity room at her residence.

Pearl was born June 9, 1908 in Collinwood, to Emil and Ann Wendorf. She lived and worked in Elyria most of her life, until moving to the Canton Christian Home in 1998 to be near her daughter.

Her husbands, Chester Page and Alvin Sterner, are both deceased. She is the mother and mother-in-law of Lois and Alan McMullen of North Canton. She has two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

During World War II, Pearl worked at Bendix – Westinghouse making military equipment. She retired from the Worthington Ball Company in 1975 with 25 years of service. She has been a member of the Washington Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 60 years.

Pearl enjoyed having a beautiful flower garden and supplied bouquets to her church and friends. During the winter she spent time crocheting.
