The 26th edition of Ohio Sprint Speedweek will kick off Sunday at Attica Raceway Park.
For fans of sprint car racing it just doesn’t get any better — seven tracks in seven days with The O’Reilly All-Star Circuit of Champion sprint cars.
Each night will wrap up with 40-lap, $5,000-to-win features — $10,000 going to the winner at the Eldora Speedway finale.
After Attica’s opener, the sprints will race Wayne County Speedway in Orrville (419-522-8761) on Monday, Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg (330-674-6747) on Tuesday and Skyline Speedway in Stewart (304-539-4410) on Wednesday. On Thursday, the series moves to Fremont Speedway (419-307-4241), where the 305 Sprints will join the card. Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima (419-339-6249) hosts Friday’s leg, and the series concludes Saturday at Eldora in Rossburg (937-338-3815).
There is a $50,000 bonus waiting should a driver win four of the seven feature races. Last year, Ohio’s Dale Blaney came close by winning three and finishing as series point runner-up to champion Shane Stewart of Oklahoma.
There will be four drivers from Australia looking to get into the winner’s circle. Troy Little, Ian Louden, Bruce White and Roddy-Bell Bowen all hail from Sydney, New South Wales.
The Attica Late Models will be the support division at Sunday’s opener and will run a $1,000-to-win feature. Admission Sunday is $22, $20 seniors, $15 ages 11-15, free to age 10 and younger. A pit pass will be $30. Gates open at 4 p.m., with racing set for 7. Call (419) 680-5606.
