The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present.  Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Francis M. Lowery

Francis M. "Butch" Lowery, 71, of Spencer, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Samaritan Regional Hospital in Ashland following a sudden illness. He was born June 24, 1936 in Sharon Center, Ohio to Bryan and Ida Gaag Lowery. He graduated from Spencer High School in 1954 and later served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Lowery was a machinist for General Motors in Parma for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was involved with the Black River Youth football and baseball, and also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds around his home.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Gloria (nee Shepard); daughter, Grace (Bob) Gott of West Salem; son, Frederick (Renee) Lowery of Nova; five granddaughters; and eight  great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no services held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Ohio Valley Affiliate, P.O. Box 163549, Columbus, OH 43216-3549.
