Leona Lucille Sheffield, 99, of Wellington, died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at New Life Hospice in Lorain. She was born October 1, 1908 in Seville.
She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church and the Women’s Guild in Wellington. She enjoyed roller skating, playing Yahtzee, riding her bike, baking, animals, riding horses and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Paul (Wanda) Sheffield of Wellington; daughters, Lois Marie Sheffield of Wellington and Joan Carlyle Quintana of Brighton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sheffield; brothers, Harry Sugaski, Edward (Pat) Sugaski, Jack Sugaski and Frank Sugaski; sisters, Charlotte Murray, Loretta Brasse, Sophia Theuming, Helen Carek Wheatley and Florentine Weimer.
Visitors will be received Sunday, June 22, 2008 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the T.G. Cowling Funeral Home, 218 East Herrick, Wellington. There will be a one hour visitation at 9 A.M. until the funeral Mass at 10 A.M. Monday, June 23, 2008 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington. Father James Reymann of St. Patrick’s Church will officiate. Interment will be in East Pittsfield Cemetery.
