Collision kills Bay motorcyclist

WESTLAKE — A Sheffield woman was involved in an accident Sunday morning on Clague Road that left a Bay Village man dead.
Joe H. Smith, 34, died after his motorcycle struck a car that was turning left from Clague Road onto Sperry Drive at around 11:41 a.m., according to Westlake police.
The car was driven by a 79-year-old Sheffield woman, who has not been identified, as no charged have been filed in connection with the crash.
Westlake officers performed CPR on Smith before he was taken to Fairview Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet.
Neither the driver of the car nor her 76-year-old passenger, also of Bay Village, was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
