ELYRIA — The Elyria Fire Department is investigating a small methane gas explosion at
The explosion happened about 9:13 a.m. at the construction site of the new LCCC/Elyria Public Library that is being built on the north side of campus. Fire officials were called at about 10 a.m. to check methane gas levels.
The building is scheduled to be completed in late summer, with a grand opening in early fall.
