W ELLINGTON — Authorities surrounded the village today with a dragnet hoping to catch a man who has reportedly been approaching children.

The man and his van were spotted at about 1:15 p.m. today near McCormick Middle School by two youngsters who reported he tried to lure them into his van on Monday to get ice cream, police said.

In Monday’s incident, the boys refused and told a parent.

A similar incident took place last week when a man driving a white van reportedly tried to lure an 11-year-old boy into the vehicle.
