The Lorain County General Health District's Vital Statistics Office houses the birth and death records beginning in 1908 to the present. Certificates of births and deaths occurring in all of Lorain County, except for the city of Lorain, are available at the health district.

Roger Lee Harris, 71, of Seneca, South Carolina, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.
A native of Kenton, Ohio, Mr. Harris was the son of Walter Lee and Thelma Josephine Watkins Harris of Florida.
He graduated second in his class from General Motors Institute. His course of study was industrial control in the business administration program. In 1960 he earned his Bachelor of Business Degree. He was employed by Dow Chemical. Later, he started his own Injection Molding Company, Mansfield Plastics, Inc. and sold it to Hoover Universal in 1976. Mr. Harris was also a previous owner operator of Gold Star Spirits in Seneca, South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris is survived by his wife, Paula Schmidt Harris; daughter, Christine Ann (husband Jack) Queen of Crestline, Ohio, and Karen Sue Skulski of Lexington, Ohio; brother, Michael Dean (wife Susan) Harris of Chicago, Illinois and their son, David Harris of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Queen, Jason Hamilton and Brennan and Marshall Skulski.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, July 19, 2008 at the Chapel of Cottingham Hospice House. An additional service will be held at 3 P.M., Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Crestline Church of the Nazarene in Crestline, Ohio. Interment will be at a later date in Mansfield Cemetery.
