All-Star Game: Lee sharp in start; Sizemore scores tying run

Both Indians representatives, Cliff Lee and Grady Sizemore, made their presence felt in the 79th All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night.
Lee, the AL starting pitcher, tossed two scoreless innings, striking out three of the seven batters he faced, with only Atlanta’s Chipper Jones collecting a hit off him — a one-out single in the second.
Lee came out throwing strikes, needing four pitches apiece to strike out the first two batters he faced, Florida’s Hanley Ramirez and Philadelphia’s Chase Utley.
After Jones advanced to second on a groundout from Colorado’s Matt Holliday, Lee struck out Milwaukee’s Ryan Braun on three pitches to end the inning — the last batter he faced.
Sizemore entered the game in center field for the top of the fifth inning. The three-time All-Star went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a run through 14 innings.
Sizemore struck out with a runner on and one out in the sixth, looking at a 3-2 pitch from Arizona’s Dan Haren. He singled with two outs in the eighth off New York’s Billy Wagner, stole second and scored the tying run on a ground-rule double from Tampa Bay pinch hitter Evan Longoria. He hit into a fielder’s choice with the bases loaded and none out in the 10th before grounding sharply to second to move Carlos Guillen to third with none out in the 12th.
