An accident shortly before 11 a.m. today at Gateway Boulevard and Third Street in Elyria injured two women and a man.

The man was in a pickup that overturned. He was able to crawl out of the cab himself before being placed on a backboard and taken to the hospital, according to a firefighter.

The women were in a car and also were treated for injuries.

Meanwhile, several people were injured in an accident involving a pickup and a Lorain County Transit bus at about 7:20 a.m. today at East 42nd Street and Palm Avenue in Lorain.

The pickup had heavy damage to its front end after hitting the right side of the bus, a firefighter said.

Rescue workers had to use hand tools to force open the bus doors and several people were treated for injuries ranging from bumps and bruises to back or neck pain, the firefighter said.

Check Wednesday’s Chronicle for more information on both accidents.
