BEREA – Browns coach Romeo Crennel announced Wednesday morning that Derek Anderson will remain the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game in Cincinnati.
Crennel had been considering a switch to former Notre Dame star Brady Quinn, but decided to stay with Anderson – at least for the time being. If Anderson struggles early against the Bengals, Crennel will likely turn to Quinn to try to save the season, which is off to an 0-3 start.
“ Anderson is the starter and Quinn will be ready,” Crennel said. “I’m not going to go into what-ifs, whens, wheres, how long or anything like that. The decision was made and that’s what it’s going to be.”
