Friday, Sept. 26

4:55 p.m. – 200 block S. Main St., Jonathon A. Block charged with criminal damaging, tampering with coin machines and petty theft after employee of Amherst Party Shop reports a man tampering with a Pepsi machine to obtain money inside.

Wednesday, Oct. 1

9:31 p.m. – Tractor Supply Co., 1971 Cooper Foster Park Road, employee of store reports a woman leaving the store with two jackets without paying for them. When the employee confronted her in the store parking lot, the woman returned the clothing.  

Saturday, Oct. 4

2:58 p.m. – Four juveniles charged with criminal trespass at a Middle Ridge Road address after they are found by police and Lorain County sheriff’s deputies. Two of the four males are charged with criminal mischief in connection with light tube bulbs being broken at the City of Amherst Street Garage at 545 Gordon Ave.

3:55 p.m. – Coopers Run, a man reports being threatened the night before by a fellow Amherst Eagles member at the Eagles Club who blamed the man for his girlfriend quitting her job at the club.      

Sunday, Oct. 5

11:33 p.m. – 500 block Elyria Ave., Michelle Kitchen charged with domestic violence after the woman’s 16-year-old daughter reports being assaulted by her mother.

Wednesday, Sept. 24

10:16 p.m. – 3000 block Edgewater Drive, caller reports large amount of thickening smoke, fearful it may stem from a house fire. Vermilion Fire Department responds and finds a large bonfire behind Aunt Ruth’s Store on Cummings Road.

Saturday, Sept. 27

7:42 p.m. – 1000 block Vermilion Road, Gregory Hopkins charged with domestic violence and operating a vehicle intoxicated following a dispute at Maple Grove Marina.

Sunday, Sept. 28

7:10 p.m. – 600 block S. Shore Court, Kylee Lowder charged with assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct persisting and resisting arrest after police said she repeatedly kicked and punched an officer in the groin while being subdued by police as they tried to handle a disturbance between her boyfriend and another man.

Monday, Sept. 29

3:16 a.m. – 2000 block Claus Road, resident reports two vehicles and his garage were entered but nothing appeared to be missing.

9:01 a.m. – 2000 block Claus Road, resident reports his garage was broken into overnight and two vehicles were ransacked. A small amount of change was taken. Another resident reports similar incident in which two unlocked vehicles were ransacked, with about $10 in change taken.

7:04 p.m. – Liberty Avenue, man reports damage to his vehicle after striking a manhole cover while driving through construction area on Liberty Avenue.
