Justices on Thursday gave the go-ahead to execute Richard Cooey.
The 41-year-old is scheduled to be executed Tuesday for killing two
He would be the first person to be put to death in the state since the end of a de facto moratorium on lethal injection.
Cooey’s attorneys had argued that prison food and limited opportunities to exercise contributed to a weight problem that would make it difficult for the execution team to find a viable vein for lethal injection.
Cooey is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 267 pounds.
An appeal is still pending.

I would like to know just how many millions of taxpayer dollars have been wasted on this worthless pig’s public defender legal defense. This is the major problem with the so-called death penalty. It is far cheaper to give these cretins life without the possibioity of parole. The only changes I would make would be to take away all privileges and entertainment and make them work at hard labor every remaining day of their miserable lives.

Prison food & no time to exercise….the couple people I know who have done time are in TIP TOP shape because other than their job, they had nothing but time to work out…and if you don’t freakin’ give favors in exchange for food, it can’t be that bad…IMO

When is Ron Post date for execution didn’t he go on death row around 1984/85, Cooey did his crime in 86? So they don’t go in order, good to know.

Even though what he did was wrong, you people have nothing good coming to you for wishing bad on anyone. You all need to remember that you are accountable for what comes out of your mouth, whether anybody knows its you or not. So you need to be a little better with your tongue when it comes to others……..no matter what. You can feel what you want, but dont say it out loud or to other people. But of course over half of you have no idea what I am talking bout and I am wasting my time….
