Marie Eleanor & Elmer Morgan

Congratulations to Eleanor and Elmer Morgan of Camden Township who celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary October 13, 2008! They were married in 1948 at the Kipton Community Church by Walter Crowell.

Eleanor was employed by Green Circle Growers. She volunteered at church, and at school and sports functions for her family.

Elmer was employed by Pretzer & Company and the Old Phoenix National Bank. He served as a lay minister at the Kipton Community Church, East Oberlin Community Church and Pittsfield Community Church. He also served as a Township Trustee.

"El and El" as they are lovingly known to friends and family are the parents of Chuck Morgan of Vermilion, Carol Smerz of Centerville, Branda Rippeth of New Philadelphia, Beth Olen of Lake Oswego, Oregon, and Roberta Cadieux of Buffalo Grove, Illinois. They have 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

To celebrate, the couple spent a weekend in Amish Country followed by an open house at Pittsfield Community Church hosted by their children and grandchildren.
