  • Lorain County Board of Elections Director Jose Candelario says despite the large turnout, no polls in Lorain County were forced to stay open late to allow for those lined up to vote. All polling sites closed promptly at 7:30 p.m., he said.
  • At 9:30 p.m., trucks and cars carrying ballots were arriving at a steady pace at the Lorain County Board of Elections office. This year, instead of having everyone drive ballots to the board’s office on North Ridge Road, the plan was altered to set up collection points around the county and have ballots shuttled from them.
  • 9:25 p.m. MSNBC has just called Ohio for Barack Obama.
  • The polls closed at 7:30 p.m. today, and a bit after 8 p.m., the first ballots started arriving at the Lorain County Board of Elections office on North Ridge Road.
