Boose beats Traster in Ohio’s 58th
Republican Terry Boose has won the 58th Ohio House race, according to unofficial election returns released today.
Boose’s race against Democrat Terry Traster had been too close to call until all the results were tallied in Huron,
Boose, a former Huron County Commissioner, will replace state Rep. Thomas Heydinger, D-Norwalk, who stepped in to fill the void left when former state Rep, Matt Barrett, D-Amherst, resigned in disgrace in April. Heydinger ultimately chose not to seek a full term, leaving Democrats scrambling to find a replacement.
Their choice, Amherst City Councilman Terry Traster, had only a few months to make up ground against Boose.
The returns released today show Boose capturing 26,875 votes, or 53.9 percent, to Traster’s 23,013 votes, or 46.1 percent.
