RECORDS: Ohio State (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) lost to Penn State 13-6 in Columbus on Oct. 25. Northwestern (7-2, 3-2) defeated Minnesota 24-17 on the road last Saturday.
COACHES: Jim Tressel is 80-18 in his eighth season at Ohio State and 215-75-2 in his 23rd year as a head coach. Pat Fitzgerald is 17-16 in his third season at Northwestern and in his career.
SERIES: Buckeyes lead 56-14-1.
THE SKINNY: The Buckeyes could muster only a pair of Aaron Pettrey field goals in their loss to Penn State. Chris “Beanie” Wells had 22 carries for 55 yards, while freshman quarterback Terrelle Pryor completed 16 of 25 passes for 226 yards.
Brendan Smith grabbed a deflected ball and returned an interception 48 yards for a touchdown with 12 seconds left to play to lift the Wildcats to their win at Minnesota.
Baldwin-Wallace at Wilmington

RECORDS: The Yellow Jackets (4-4, 4-3 Ohio Athletic Conference) defeated Ohio Northern 10-7 in Berea last Saturday. The Quakers (3-5, 3-4) defeated Heidelberg 23-20 in Tiffin the same day.
COACHES: John Snell is 45-25 in his seventh season at Baldwin-Wallace and in his career. Barry Wulf is 10-28 in his fourth season at Wilmington and in his career.
SERIES: Baldwin-Wallace leads 7-2. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Quakers 34-0 on Sept. 22, 2007, in Berea for their seventh straight win in the series.
THE SKINNY: Junior quarterback Anthony Gardner completed 16 of 27 passes for 199 yards and one touchdown in Baldwin-Wallace’s win over Ohio Northern. Freshman Devon Jennings had five catches for 75 yards, including the 17-yard TD reception. Senior tackle Joe Kowalski led the B-W defense with 11 tackles and three quarterback hurries, while sophomore cornerback Ryan Dugan’s interception helped seal the win.
The Quakers rallied from a 20-10 halftime deficit against Heidelberg to snap a two-game losing streak. Sophomore Astin Laury had a career-high 185 rushing yards on 27 carries. Junior QB Billy Blackburn completed 10 of 14 passes for 64 yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore T.J. Burbridge Jr. led the Wilmington defense with 15 tackles.
Wooster at Oberlin

RECORDS: Oberlin (2-6, 2-3 North Coast Athletic Conference) lost to Wabash (Ind.) 60-7 in Crawfordsville, Ind., last Saturday while the Scots (6-2, 4-1) defeated Allegheny (Pa.) 35-21 in Wooster the same day.
COACHES: Jeff Ramsey is 26-72 in his ninth season at Oberlin and in his career. Mike Schmitz is 60-30 in his ninth season at Wooster and in his career.
SERIES: Wooster leads 61-22-2. The Scots have won the last two games in the series.
THE SKINNY: Wayne Mundekis scored from 1 yard out in the fourth quarter for Oberlin’s touchdown against Wabash as the Little Giants clinched the NCAC championship. Mundekis led the Yeomen with 73 rushing yards on 11 carries. Senior running back R.V. Carroll returns to Oberlin’s lineup after missing four games with an injury.
The Scots are tied for second place in the NCAC. They are second in total offense with 413.4 yards per game and third in defense.
