Carl "Butch" Deimling, 74, of Grafton Township, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Southwest General Hospital after a short illness. He was born Thursday, June 14, 1934 in Valley City, living in the Medina-Lorain County area all his life.

Mr Deimling served in the U.S. Army in the mid 50’s as one of the first group of men to work on helicopters. He also served in Germany.

He was a self employed truck driver and owned and operated "Carl Deimling Trucking". He was also a farmer in the community.

He enjoyed woodworking, and refinishing kitchen hutches, going to county fairs, and agricultural activities. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Columbia Station.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Pat; brother, Burton Deimling of Texas; sister, Ruth Schworer of Grafton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Pearl Deimling; brother, Lawrence; and  sister, Margaret Booth.

Friends may call in the Blackburn-Duke Funeral Home, 1021 Main St., Grafton, Friday, November 14, 2008 from 2  to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be

in the funeral home Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. Father  Charles Ryba of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in Nesbett Cemetery, Grafton Township.
